Overview:
This position is a VOLUNTEER only role to provide direct support to the USA Field Hockey National Boys Engagement Manager to meet the goals and objectives for development of male field hockey within the United States by serving as a Volunteer Support Assistant (VSA). This position is PART-TIME REMOTE, requiring up to 15 hours per week. This position can include in-person support at events based on availability, requirements, and travel stipend only when available. (if required).
Duties:
The primary duties for the VSA are assistance at managing official correspondence, support to event planning, schedule management, and outreach via social media and/or other communication means. The VSA will also, as directed, assist with drafting proposals, locating and applying for grants, writing articles, and other documents needed to support boys’ engagement. For in-person support, the VSA could be used to help coordinate logistics, schedules, and static displays. The VSA should also be prepared to provide official messaging for USA Field Hockey to players, parents, coaches, officials, and any other interested parties based on guidance from the National Boys Engagement Manager. Assist the Boys Engagement Manager with building the network of State Chapter Boys Chairs.
Skills Required:
- Experience drafting official correspondence via email, social media, and/or written documents.
- Knowledge of social media presence and its use to advertise, communicate, and inform targeted areas of the public on the goals and successes of USA Field Hockey Boys Engagement. All promotions are cleared up by the Boys Engagement Manager and USA Field Hockey communications department.
- Strong communication and inter-personal relationship skills to ensure effective messaging of USA Field Hockey Boys Engagement to current and future players, parents, coaches, officials, and other interested parties.
- Experience at planning events and ensuring logistics and compliance requirements are clearly identified and sourced.
- Experience managing schedules to ensure adherence to timelines for events, projects, and organizational requirements.
- Experience using Microsoft Office tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of basic data management.
Location and Hours:
- This is a REMOTE position. In-person presence at events is voluntary and based on requirements from the USAFH Boys Engagement Manager.
- The expected hours for this position are up to 15 hours per week.
